Love is a four letter word. This blog is for the students in my course on love, sex and God at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Students are encouraged to respond with their opinions and accounts that bear on topics discussed in class.
All personal blog posts should be signed with the year and gender of the poster only.

Flirting can occur unintentionally because of biological reasons, culture, or because it is a comfortable way to interact socially. Flirting can also be intentional and this is usually noticeable when flirting transitions from body language to verbal actions. However, what sets committed people apart from singles is that committed people flirt out of curiosity and a way to make them feel more alive without hurting the happiness of anyone they love.

Whitty argues that although the way we flirt have changed, gender role have not. Both in the past and recently, men seek physical attractiveness and women seek financial security online and offline.

Summary: This article describes the rise of sexting which is a negative aspect of flirting and how their picture can end up in the internet for child pornographers to see.It also arises the question of whether child pornography charges can be applied to minors who reproduce these images.
